Over four years of studying and practicing design, I noticed that creative growth was often reduced to stories of struggle, relocation, or sudden breakthroughs. Yet within myself and many of my creative peers, growth seemed to happen through quieter moments of doubt, experimentation, boredom, and realization. This project emerged from a desire to capture those often overlooked experiences through a reflective and visually expressive medium.

As stories, patterns, and realizations began to emerge from the research, the challenge became finding a way to translate these experiences into a format that felt personal, immersive, and emotionally honest. Alongside developing the narrative, I explored different approaches to book production through moodboarding, studying numerous publications, and researching diverse styles of writing, illustration, and visual storytelling.

Orange emerged as the color of "becoming" symbolizing growth, transformation, and moments of realization. Hand-drawn text treatments became the voice of these realizations, emphasizing thoughts and reflections as they surfaced throughout the narratives. The scribbled illustration style developed into a distinct visual device, focusing on emotion and expression rather than identity, allowing readers to connect with the experiences being shared. Together with the typography, photography, and tactile production choices, these elements shaped the book into a personal, immersive, and reflective experience.
